Establishment of Automotive Parts Manufacturing Company in Shiga
Toyota Boshoku Corporation (Headquarters: Kariya-city, Aichi, Japan President: Shuhei
Toyoda) announced the establishment of a new automotive parts manufacturing
company, Toyota Boshoku Shiga Corporation, located in Koka city, Shiga prefecture,
Japan. This new company will manufacture automotive filter and power train
components, interior components, and exterior components.
After the merger in October 2004, Toyota Boshoku has promoted reorganization of
plants in Japan to optimize production efficiency. The new company is established for
the purpose to correspond to the expansion of Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. business. Also,
to improve the service toward the customer and to reduce logistics cost by producing
near the customer.
This new company is the first production site, mainly manufactures the variety of plastic
molding products only for Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. The production starts from August
2007 and delivers to Shiga Plant, Kyoto Plant, Ikeda Plant and Nishinomiya Parts
Center of Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd.
