Establishment of Automotive Interior Manufacturing Company in Ontario, Canada
Toyota Boshoku Corporation (Headquarters: Kariya-city, Aichi, Japan President: Shuhei
Toyoda) announced the establishment of a new automotive interior manufacturing
company, Toyota Boshoku Canada, located in Woodstock, Ontario Canada. This new
company will be the first Toyota Boshoku wholly owned seat manufacturing facility in
North America.
This represents a $65M CAD investment for Toyota Boshoku's North America company,
Toyota Boshoku America (hereinafter referred to as TBA). The new company will
produce the RAV4 seat, door trim and carpet interior parts for Toyota Motor
Manufacturing Canada's (TMMC) 2nd plant, which will begin operations in 2008.
Currently, Toyota Boshoku Corporation has fifteen production facilities in North America
(including wholly owned and JV's). TBA is taking the lead to strengthen their
organization structures and develop best practices for an efficient business
management system. The establishment of this new Canada based company along
with current North America production sites is important for Toyota Boshoku's North
America business development.
