Establishment of the manufacturing company of seat and door trim in South Africa

Toyota Tsusho Corporation
Toyota Boshoku Corporation - Masanao Motonami, President, located at Aichi, Japan and
Toyota Tsusho Corporation - Masaaki Furukawa, President, located at Aichi Japan will
establish a joint venture company of producing seats and door trims for vehicles in Durban,
South Africa.
Since Toyota Boshoku has been developing its operation bases worldwide especially in 4
areas such as North and South America, China, ASEAN, and Europe, this is the first project
for Toyota Boshoku in South Africa. Toyota Boshoku will take seat and door trim business
and start its operation in April, 2006, which currently are manufactured at Toyota South Africa
Motors (Pty) Ltd. (TSAM as abbreviation), as TSAM will increase its capacity. This project
will strengthen Toyota Boshoku's global supply capacity.
The new company is planning to procure essential parts such as seats frames and functional
parts from Toyota boshoku's production bases in ASEAN and Europe, assemble seats for
vehicles, and deliver to TSAM.
